Projecting Arts Inc, began in 2007 as a cultural proposal by Ecuadorian painters to spread their art.
Thus, this organization was founded on the initiative of Fabian Tacuri who summoned Fanny Rodriguez, Claudia Geena and William Fernandez to form the board of directors. However, after establishing the slogan “Projecting Art without Borders” they decided that the group should expand and that is why they decided to choose new talents from other Latin countries.
Today Projecting Arts Inc is officially incorporated as a non-profit organization under section 402 of the state of New York.
Projecting Arts has a diverse group of members of different nationalities.
An organization founded on June 27, 2010, in the city of Patchogue, Long Island, works to showcase and promote Latino talent. Within the organization’s guidelines is the production of interdisciplinary or multidisciplinary projects that foster Hispanic art and culture in the United States.
Among the various exhibitions, notable ones include “La Casa Ecuatoriana” for the inauguration of the institution and one at the Queens Museum of Art, sponsored by the New York Chamber of Commerce, also presenting the work “El Huésped Vacío” at the Lati Theater. However, the most significant event for Projecting Art has been the inauguration of the Long Island Latino International Film Festival, which took place at the Charles B. Wang Center at Stony Brook University in Long Island. As it was an inter-American event, all these exhibitions took place from 2008 to 2014. The promoter and president of the organization is the well-known Ecuadorian artist Fabian Tacuri, who has been responsible for promoting Latin American art within and outside the Latino community residing in this country.
Today Projecting Arts Inc takes giant steps towards fulfilling its established mission.
With the collaboration of Artists in the different branches previously mentioned, we are gradually managing to conquer a space in an environment in which life goes fast since only art can offer calm in a world as busy as the current one.
